There is a new bill in the California State Legislature that could use your support.  AB 1231, also known as the “Telehealth Bill” would require the California Regional Centers to allow some services to be rendered with the use of “telehealth” and “teledentistry” when consumers choose this option.  This would give the parent of a child on the Autism spectrum the option of getting some of their services in home via technology.  Imagine a parent being able to receive their required 16-hour parent training at home instead of having to commute, or allowing children to receive instruction on the proper care of their teeth in the security of their own homes.  Currently, this bill is under consideration, and your support can ensure that it becomes law.  Below is a sample letter that you can customize to fit your circumstances.  It  is advised that you fax or mail your letter to each assembly member on the list below, OR you can email your letter to autismlive@gmail.com and we will fax your letter to each assemblymember on the committee.  Together we can let our lawmakers know how important this legislation is to our families!
